Provision of better transport facilities to the people was our dream: Shahbaz Sharif |

June 28, 2009:
Punjab Chief Minister, Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that public transport system is being improved for providing modern, standardized and comfortable transport facilities to the people and for this purpose, Lahore Transport Company has been set up while similar transport companies would also be established in other major cities on the same pattern.
He said that provision of better transport facilities to the people was our dream which is being materialized Sunday after signing of an agreement with Chinese company for providing buses. |

War against terrorism: world to suffer if Pakistan failed, warns Hashmi |

Senior Vice President Pakistan Muslim League- Nawaz (PML-N), Makhdoom Javed Hashmi has expressed reservations over US interference in country’s internal matters saying the world would have to suffer if efforts were made to make Pakistan a failed state.
Talking to US Consulate Principal Officer Brian D Hunt here on Sunday, he said, the US interference is increasing in country’s internal matters which are causing negative impact among the masses, Private TV Channel reported. |

Former parliamentary secretary of Punjab and PPP leader Kamran Ali Khan has alleged opposition leader in National Assembly Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has let loose a reign of terror on PPP workers in constituency NA-53.
He said this while addressing a press conference here Sunday. PPP workers from constituency NA-53 also accompanied him in the press conference. |

Prime Minister Gilani has assured provision of proper water share to Punjab, Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif told newsmen here.
Talking to media outside Punjab Assembly on Friday, Shahbaz Sharif said that the river water distribution among the four provinces will be made according to the water sharing formulae. |

LHC Rawalpindi divisional bench comprised of Justice Tariq Shamim and Justice Saeed Ijaz declared the Accountability court verdict null and void. |

Opposition leader in National Assembly (NA) Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said decisions be taken inside parliament rather than taking dictation from World Bank (WB) and International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Chaudhry Nisar was addressing NA session here Friday. He held opposition had participated in budget debate in democratic manner. Opposition would monitor implementation process of budget. |
